Biography

Katrina Shunk is an Associate Attorney at Christy, Keith & Donnell Family Law Group, P.C. She combines skilled legal advocacy with genuine compassion, recognizing that family law matters are among the most personal and emotionally complex challenges her clients may face. Ms. Shunk is committed to guiding clients through every stage of the legal process with empathy, honesty, and practical advice. She believes in fostering open communication, building trust, and setting clear, realistic expectations so clients can make informed decisions with confidence. By providing steady support and thoughtful counsel, she helps clients navigate difficult transitions while working toward meaningful, lasting resolutions.

Ms. Shunk earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Miami, where she majored in Criminology and completed dual minors in English and Business Law. She received her Juris Doctor from Western State College of Law, where she earned Witkin Awards for academic excellence in Property II and Estates.

Prior to joining Christy, Keith & Donnell Family Law Group, Ms. Shunk practiced law at a family law firm in Orange County before establishing her own family law practice, which grew entirely through client and professional referrals. She considers referrals to be the highest compliment an attorney can receive, reflecting the confidence and trust her clients place in her during life's most difficult transitions. Ms. Shunk is honored to be entrusted with helping individuals and families through complex family law matters and contentious situations. She takes great pride in providing clients with clarity, practical solutions, and a roadmap for moving forward with confidence.

Prior to her legal career, Ms. Shunk developed extensive experience in California real estate. She represented buyers, sellers, landlords, and tenants in residential transactions, leasing, and negotiations, and previously managed commercial real estate portfolios consisting of office, industrial, and mixed-use properties with more than 300 tenants. Her background in property management, contract negotiations, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance provides valuable insight when handling family law matters involving real estate, including the division, sale, and transfer of marital property.

Ms. Shunk believes that effective advocacy requires more than a thorough understanding of the law – it requires understanding the people behind each case. She is dedicated to ensuring every client feels heard, supported, and informed throughout the legal process. By combining strategic legal guidance with genuine compassion, she helps clients navigate complex family law matters with confidence and clarity while remaining focused on practical solutions and long-term goals.

Outside the office, Ms. Shunk enjoys spending time with her family, caring for rescue animals, and spending time at the beach. Having grown up in a small coastal Orange County town, she has always felt at home near the ocean and appreciates any opportunity to be by the water.
